Why Debbie Created This Series
I created the Legendary Land Series because I wanted to give young readers a place to take that important next step between picture books and longer chapter books.
I think of these stories as Bridge Books — books that still offer illustrations, shorter chapters, and an inviting reading experience, while beginning to give children more independence, more story, and more adventure.
I wanted the series to feel exciting without being overwhelming. The mysteries are gentle, the discoveries build gradually, and the stories are designed to encourage children to keep going — one clue, one chapter, and one small success at a time.
At the heart of Legendary Land is the belief that confidence grows when children are given stories that meet them where they are while gently inviting them forward.
My hope is that these books help young readers feel proud of themselves as they begin stepping into longer stories — and that they discover just how much adventure can be waiting beyond the next page.
